The power of the Internet and technology these days just amazes me. We’ve come so far since I was a kid. I remember growing up with a huge computer that took FOREVER to process anything, and now I whiz through website pages in seconds. In fact, if a page takes longer to load than three seconds, I get impatient and open a new tab and do my search there. I now depend on my computer to inform me of everything. No longer do I pick up a newspaper to get the daily news, I just set my home page to CNN.com and every time I open a new browser, I get the latest news. My subscription to NYTimes.com is set up so I receive an email notification every time there is a news alert. Fantastic! I can work all day, never turn on the TV or radio, and still have up-to-the-minute news of what is happening in the world.

It is amazing when you think about it. The Internet has replaced the traditional newspaper for the vast majority of people, myself included.
I remember the argument used to be made that one day you would see newspapers in a portable digital format that someone could carry with them. I think that is true, and infact is already happening just not in the way anyone expected.
Look at anyone who uses a PDA or phone on the go to view news online, and you’ll see it in action.
